# What is a Fusion Vault?

Fusion vaults are the central part of the Fusion asset management infrastructure. They enable sophisticated asset management automation in the background, accessible via a standard front-end deposit.

All the sophisticated data collection, processing, and execution is handled in the back end by the [Alpha](/build-on-fusion/architecture-overview/what-is-an-alpha.md) role. Users enjoy full transparency on the front end. They can check which markets are connected to any Fusion vault, view the vault's performance, and learn the current and historical allocation of funds.
